Step into the whimsical world of Roald Dahl with this delightful Steiff Willy Wonka bear, created exclusively for Danbury Mint in 2016. This limited edition piece, numbered 356 of 5000, is inspired by the iconic illustrations of Quentin Blake and is officially authorised by the Roald Dahl Estate, with the author’s name beautifully embroidered on his paw pad.

Crafted from the finest light beige to blonde mohair, Willy Wonka features expressive glass button eyes and a neatly hand-stitched black nose and mouth. He is firmly filled with polyester, giving him a rigid structure so he can stand confidently on his own. True to Steiff’s renowned quality, he proudly displays the signature button in ear with white tag and retains the official booklet attached at the rear.

Impeccably dressed in a rich velvet purple jacket layered over a white & yellow shirt with waistcoat, complemented by a charming spotted bow tie. His green corduroy trousers & grey felt top hat complete the unmistakable look of the eccentric chocolatier. He comes with an array of original accessories including the golden ticket, certificates, and sales advert, all preserved in excellent condition.  The original Steiff box is included & remains in fair to good condition, showing some marks and creases consistent with age.

NB While the bear originally came with a plastic cane, this has become brittle over time and is now broken in two places. It may be possible to repair, and a wooden replacement cane has been crafted to accompany him, though it does not match the originality of the first.
