An enchanting and exceptionally rare Steiff collectible, this Puppeteer and Marionette Bear Set (W/Tag 671784) is a delightful German Exclusive released in 2004. Beautifully designed by the master teddy bear makers at Steiff, this charming pair captures the magic of a puppeteer and his miniature "mini-me" marionette.

The Puppeteer bear measures approximately 30cm (12 inches) and the marionette bear measures 12cm (4.75 inches). Both are fully jointed and handcrafted from luxurious, close-woven wavy blonde mohair with warm wool felt paw pads, expressive two-tone brown eyes, and hand-stitched chocolate brown noses and mouths, giving them a gentle and endearing character. Each bear wears an oversized red ribbon bow with white polka dots. While the bows are not identical, they are complementary in style. The marionette remains attached to the Puppeteer by its original wooden control rods and strings.

Both bears retain their original official Steiff chest tags together with the signature gold-plated Button in Ear and white Steiff tag. This set is Limited Edition number 284 of only 1,500 produced worldwide and is accompanied by its numbered certificate of authenticity. Also included is the original black cloth drawstring storage bag, embroidered in German and beautifully decorated with an illustration of the two bears, complete with their distinctive red polka dot bows.

The set is presented in an official Steiff presentation box, although this is not the original box supplied with the set. Overall, the bears are in excellent condition and represent a magical, highly collectible Steiff limited edition that would make a wonderful addition to any serious Steiff or teddy bear collection.
