Steiff Paddington Bear 2005 – Limited Edition No. 354311

A rare and highly collectable Steiff Paddington Bear from 2005, model number 354311, produced as a limited edition of just 2,500 pieces worldwide. This charming collector’s bear is number 867 of the edition and was originally created for the European market.

Handcrafted in Germany from fine blonde mohair, Paddington stands approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall. He is dressed in his instantly recognisable bright yellow and black sou’wester hat and matching raincoat, complemented by his iconic red Wellington boots. His black ears and hand-embroidered black nose complete his traditional Paddington appearance.

The bear features Steiff’s distinctive gold-plated “Button-in-Ear” and the original white and red consecutively numbered ear tag bearing model number 354311. Manufactured in 2005, this edition followed Steiff’s initial Paddington Bear release in 2003, after the company was granted a licence to produce the character originally created by Michael Bond in 1958.

This example is in good overall collector’s condition and remains complete with its original tags. NB There is a slight crease to the tag, some minor fading to the red boots, and a few small marks to the hat and coat, consistent with age and previous display. He is presented in a generic Steiff box rather than the original presentation box.
