A delightful and nostalgic piece, this charming Baby Bear with Wagon is part of the Steiff Museum Collection, created in 1989 as a replica of a classic 1939 children’s pull toy. Produced in a limited edition of 4,000 pieces, this example is individually numbered 391 and features Steiff’s early white tag numbering system (0135/20).

The miniature bear is crafted from rich golden mohair, beautifully complemented by beige felt paw pads and fine brown hand-stitched detailing to the nose, mouth, and claws. A soft lilac ribbon bow adorns his neck, while the original Steiff ear and white tags remain in place. Adding to his charm, the bear holds small brass-effect bells in his paws.

He is securely attached to a brass-effect wagon with traditional wooden wheels, and is pulled along by a red and white cord. As the wheels turn, the bear’s arms gently move up and down, causing the bells to ring - just like the original vintage toy design.

Please note that the original certificate and silver-coloured display box are no longer present.  Despite this, the piece remains in very good condition and is a wonderful example of Steiff’s craftsmanship.
