STEIFF - 'King Balthazar with Elephant' 2003 LE - White Tag 037832

This charming limited edition collectible from Steiff features King Balthazar with his Elephant, a beautifully detailed set inspired by the traditional story of the Three Wise Men. Crafted in 2003, this piece is part of a worldwide edition of just 1,500 and is individually numbered 817/1500.

King Balthazar is often recognised as the King of Arabia, and is said to have given Jesus the gift of myrrh. He is expertly crafted from the finest beige mohair and dressed in an ornate traditional outfit, including a cream shirt adorned with gold and blue braiding, a matching tie cord, a flowing blue felt cloak, and a cream hat. His detailed beard adds a distinguished and regal character. He measures approximately 7” (18cm) in height.

Accompanying him is his striking elephant companion, made from soft grey mohair and standing approximately 12” (30cm) tall. The elephant is richly decorated with a red leather harness and a vibrant multicoloured saddlecloth, both finished with intricate gold-coloured bells for added authenticity and charm.

Both pieces feature the iconic Steiff gold-plated “button in ear” and white ear tags (037832), confirming their authenticity.

The set comes complete with its official certificates and original presentation box with clasp closure. All items are in Good Plus to Excellent condition, making this a wonderful addition for collectors of Steiff or festive-themed limited editions.
