STEIFF for HARRODS 'Musical Clown Bear' 1992 - Limited Edition White Tag 011894

A wonderful tribute to the longstanding partnership between Steiff and Harrods, this exclusive Harrods Musical Clown Bear was produced in 1992/93 as a limited edition of just 2,000 pieces worldwide. Numbered 67 of 2,000, this highly collectible and pretty bear celebrates the special relationship between Germany's most famous teddy bear maker and London's iconic luxury department store, renowned for showcasing Steiff bears for generations.

Inspired by a classic 1929 Steiff design, this charming clown bear is beautifully crafted from the finest distressed mohair in a rich brown shade with delicate pink undertones. The bear features suede paw pads, bright expressive eyes, and a hand-stitched brown nose, mouth, and claws, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship for which Steiff is celebrated.

Adding to its distinctive character is a cream and green ruff around the neck, incorporating Harrods' signature colours, together with a cream felt clown hat adorned with two green pom-poms. The lower paw bears the hand signed signature of Jörg Junginger, great-grandnephew of Margarete Steiff, further enhancing its appeal to collectors.

The bear retains its original white ear tag (011894), gold-plated Steiff Button in Ear, and official Harrods chest tag. Housed within is a fully functioning, premium Swiss musical movement which, when wound, plays the classic melody "The Entertainer."  Bear is in Excellent condition with small dent to top of his hat.

Lovingly handmade in Germany, this exceptional limited edition comes complete with its original Harrods presentation box (small break in clear lid on corner) and represents a rare opportunity to own a charming piece of Steiff and Harrods history.
