STEIFF 'First American Teddy' - White Tag 667183 - Limited North American Exclusive

Celebrate a century of Steiff history with the charming First American Teddy, a special 3000 limited edition released in 2003 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Steiff bears arriving in America in 1903.

Standing 38cm (15 inches) tall, this handsome teddy is crafted from light blonde mohair and is fully jointed, allowing for a variety of classic poses. His delightful patriotic styling includes a white felt "Uncle Sam" top hat adorned with an embroidered blue ribbon featuring white stars, alongside a matching red bow tie decorated with white embroidered stars.

The bear features bright black button eyes, a short-haired muzzle, and a hand-stitched black nose, mouth, and claws. Pale felt paw pads add further character, with one lower paw embroidered with "First American Teddy" and the other displaying the iconic American flag with its stars and stripes.

Adding to its collectability, this edition features a unique customised Steiff ear tag in the form of a miniature American flag alongside the gold-plated Button in Ear. This was the first time in Steiff's history that the ear tag design had been modified in such a way, making it a particularly significant piece for collectors.

The bear is fitted with a fully functioning growler and is presented in its original Steiff shoe box-style presentation box (few marks to box). White tag number 667183 remains attached and official certificate 1348 of 3000 is included.
