STEIFF '1912 Titanic Replica Mourning Bear' British Collectors - exclusive to the UK White Tag 406829

Produced exclusively for British Steiff collectors, the Steiff 1912 Replica Bear is a striking limited edition recreation of one of the company's early teddy bear designs. Released in 1991 and limited to just 3,000 pieces worldwide, this example is number 90 of the edition, making it a highly desirable collector's piece.  When the Titanic sank, Steiff created fewer than 500 black "mourning" bears, which are considered some of the rarest and most valuable in the world today and this Bear is the Replica of the original.

Expertly crafted from the finest black mohair plush, the bear faithfully captures the character and charm of the original 1912 design. Traditional excelsior wood shavings have been used for the stuffing, reflecting the authentic manufacturing techniques employed by Steiff during the early 20th century.

The bear features large, sad, expressive black eyes with distinctive red backgrounds, creating a captivating vintage appearance. Finishing details include a hand-embroidered black nose, mouth and claws, together with pale felt paw pads - traditionally elongated, that complement the rich black mohair beautifully. A fully functioning growler adds to the bear's authentic vintage character and collector appeal.

Retaining its original Button in ear and white ear tag (406829), this rare UK-exclusive edition comes complete with its official Certificate of Authenticity and original Steiff presentation box. Please note that the box has a slight dent to one side but remains in Very good overall condition. The bear is in Excellent condition
