A charming and highly collectible Merrythought Stowaway Bear, model JK100, beautifully handcrafted from genuine mohair in Ironbridge, Shropshire. This delightful limited edition was produced in an edition of just 750 pieces worldwide and is individually numbered, with this bear being 274 of 750, released in 2002.

Measuring approximately 8½ inches (21.5cm) tall, the Stowaway is fully jointed and features specially bent knees, allowing him to sit neatly inside his original wooden presentation crate. Sitting comfortably with his arms wrapped around his knees, he has an endearing, contented expression, as though quietly taking in the sounds around him.

The bear is crafted from beautiful caramel-coloured mohair and has bright black eyes, a hand-stitched brown nose and mouth, and distinctive hessian paw pads. The lower paw pad features a Merrythought label stitched into the design. He also wears his original hessian scarf and carries his miniature hessian hobo sack, adding to his wonderfully traditional and characterful appearance.

The Stowaway comes complete with his original wooden presentation box with rope handle, featuring a clear perspex sliding front lid, making this a particularly attractive piece for display as well as an excellent addition to a Merrythought collection. His official swing tags of authenticity remain unopened and attached, further enhancing his desirability to collectors.  The bear is in excellent condition, but pls note - small chip to the perspex front top right hand corner. 

With its limited production of only 750 pieces, distinctive design and traditional English craftsmanship, the Merrythought Stowaway is a wonderful example of the company's renowned mohair teddy bears.
